One of the major features of the project was a new cabinetry unit spanning the stairway between the living room and kitchen. This full-height unit now houses their collections, hobbies, books, as well as essential everyday items. The mix of opened and closed storage provides a mix of function and aesthetics, keeping clutter out of sight, but breaking up what could have otherwise been an overpowering monolithic structure.
